Agozar Description:
The dim, warm lights of this Cuban eatery belie the real party that goes on here. Nightly happy diners dig into costillas (beef short ribs with guava barbecue sauce), pollo al mojo cubano (lime-marinated grilled chicken) and pollo guantanamero (chicken breast stuffed with sweet plantains and cheese, with white wine sauce and wild mushrooms and garlic). On the other side, the polished bar is a fine spot for sipping fruity cocktails such as the sangríto or Papa Hemingway. Thanks to sibling owners Gerardo and Diana Perez, modern tastes enhance the traditional Cuban flavors. The menu here tends to evolve, but the tastes of Cuba linger like the memories of a great tropical getaway.
