Malaysian Rasa Sayang Restaurant Description:
Small but bright and clean with the polyeurythaned blond wood latticed glass panes of the front of the building setting the tone, this location had a short life as a sushi restaurant before going Malaysian. During 1998 and 1999 some shifts in the organization affected the offerings of the kitchen. But spicy, tangy Malaysian specialities along with a variety of Chinese standards continue to be offered. Being only about a block up Broadway from the busy 74th Street/Roosevelt MTA station perhaps has made it easy for the food reviewers of the major local dailies to find. So have many neighborhood Asians who nightly fill the few large round tables with family or friends.
Many well known Malaysian dishes can be found here including roti canai, ah chat, nasi lemak, beef rendang, asam curries, Hainan chicken, and many noodle dishes (both stir fry and soup).
