Bathed in blue light, Niagara sits quietly on an East Village corner. During the week, you'll almost have the place to yourself, save for a few tie-loosened after-work drink-swillers. The large windows that wrap around the building are good for watching the East Village brigade stumble into Tompkins Square Park. The place has been renovated, sadly losing the East Village meets Brady Bunch goes to Hawaii tiki bar. Hipsters still can do their best Viva Las Vegas routine in the small dance area downstairs or sing along to Guns 'N' Roses at the bar, but overall Niagara has a more gentrified vibe.
