Klee Brasserie Description:
A neighborhood Euro-American eatery with strong Austrian overtones has earned its place among the row of eclectic restaurants bordering Chelsea's art galleries and the Joyce Theater. Open both early and late to accommodate the area's visitors, the attractive restaurant offers chef Daniel Angerer's wide range of seafood dishes (many culled from his previous stints at Shore, Fresh and Bouley Bakery) and updated Austrian specialties such as monkfish pumpkin-seed schnitzel, with Jerusalem artichokes, celeriac and sun-dried golden grapes. Dig into the Muscovy duck pâté with Concord grape and hibiscus jam on sourdough toast. Austrian speck linguine with daily squash and pumpkin seed pesto is also well prepared. Along with a variety of international beers, a diverse wine list is offered including many dessert wines to accompany the chef's own spin on traditional finales like chocolate and lingonberry bread pudding with chocolate-rum sauce or the Viennese classic---Sacher torte.
