Two chefs are in command at this unassuming spot that cannot seat many more than a dozen guests in its small wooden structure along the road. They do their best to work the local ingredients in a French-oriented style with dishes such as shrimp Provençal. Their intentions are praiseworthy. However, their preparations would probably benefit from simplification, for instance, when a too-pungent mushroom stuffing fights against the scent of the delicate crab meat. Rather than in the smallish room on the street, choose to dine al fresco on the patio, in the back far from the traffic with the pleasant whisper of the rose- and honeysuckle-wrought iron fountain.
