Cafe R and D Description:
The Fashion Island set seems truly excited about Café R+D; after all, the name does stand for research and development. And although the food is some of this upscale mall's best gastropub fare with rather good prices, there doesn't seem to be much innovation coming out of the kitchen. Regulars don't care; they go for the simple, quick and satisfying meals, a cross between what one would find at a deli and a pâtisserie. Try the fresh-squeezed juices, flavorful entrée salads or sandwiches ranging from tuna salad to prime rib and a classic Reuben.
