Fido Description:
Fido serves some of Nashville's finest coffee, with beans roasted in its own facility. Particularly at lunch and dinner the kitchen turns out such plates as huevos cubanos with tomatillos, poblano peppers and avocado over hash browns, combining the very best of Southern home-style cooking with the verve of Latin spice to satisfying effect. At dinnertime, a thoughtfully composed wine and beer list, while short, is an amiable companion to a menu of fresh, contemporary American cuisine with heavy hints of Latin influence. Whimsical salads such as The Liberal (greens, fruits and nuts) give way to such dishes as a tower of layered eggplant, goat cheese, white beans and roasted onions. The muffins and bagels are darn fine, and if you dare, the mammoth slices of cake are well worth the exercise you'll need to burn them off. Sin boldly.
