Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q Description:
This well-run regional chain goes beyond the barbecue basics, but its smoked meats are definitely the reason to have a seat. Meats are tender, but they are hardly the flabby oven-cooked material many chains purvey, and will consistently show the requisite pink "smoke ring," a sure sign they were cooked over wood. If you're not out for 'cue, try a wood-grilled quesadilla, Brunswick stew or golden fried catfish. For dessert, we suggest the house-made lemon icebox or chocolate cream pie. This location has a well-designed upfront bar, and, as at all the locations, when you order takeout, it's packaged in an attractive sack, which a server carries to your vehicle.
