This is a unit of a chain establishment, with locations focused in Tennessee, but its well-executed Americanized Italian dishes offer plenty of bang for the buck. Once you get past the death-defying valet parking right on busy West End Ave., you'll find plenty of pizza options, from classic tomato-and-cheese to smoked chicken and spinach with sun-dried tomato, all made with a slightly sweet honey-yeast dough. There are nouveau touches like duck-and-sausage pasta, and more predictable fare like chicken Parmesan and veal Marsala. For lighter appetites, check out the small-plates menu, where you'll find signature cheese fritters, and a brunch menu reserved for Sunday. One aspect of the wine list we really enjoy is the ability to order not just a glass of wine, but also a half glass. Large parties should make reservations.

I come to Amerigo often because their food is authentic, fresh and always delicious. I have tried several dishes on the menu, and have never had a poor experience. The service is always right on point. They also have live music a couple of days a week, which makes for nice ambiance with a glass of wine.
