Chef-owners Anita Hartel and Corey Griffith never let Mambu grow dull. They can't sit still, and Nashville's diners are treated to quite the excursions as a result. Start your global trip in Japan with shrimp gyoza in Asian-inspired dipping sauce. From there the world is your oyster with everything from the Creole spiced trout to the Shanghai duck stir-fry. For lunch, sink your teeth into innovative sandwiches or fresh, zesty entrées that defy the norm, such as pomegranate barbecue chicken over mac 'n' cheese and fried okra. While the wine list isn't extensive, it does offer some lovely choices, and many are available by the glass. Dimly lit nooks are a favorite in this cottage-turned-restaurant space; ask for one when making reservations.
