Pullman Restaurant Description:
Set in a large room divided into three levels, with a huge sort of chandelier made from wine glasses, Pullman draws its name from the luxury train cars of yesteryear. The design and outlook of this wine bar, however, is nothing but modern, with minimalist leather-and skin-covered stools, sparse tables and accessories, and a selection of the latest lounge-style music. The main attraction is an original and often surprising list of some 200 wines, devised by expert sommelier Véronique Dalle, which allows you to taste trios from Switzerland or the Loire Valley, or sample through unique cuvées from Italy, Spain, France and the New World. To go along with your wines, there's a tapas-style menu of dishes with everything from fried calamari with a pesto-mayonnaise sauce and Rockefeller oysters to decadent mini-cheeseburgers and rich grilled cheese sandwiches, plates of charcuteries or cheese, or even a bowlful of truffle-flavored green beans with roasted almonds. Still hungry? How about some Valrhona chocolate truffles or a corn-chocolate-pistachio cone to be enjoyed with a glass of port or Banyuls? As you sip and snack your way through these offerings, you may find yourself staying into the wee hours of the night.
