Sir Winston Churchill Pub Complex Description:
The Winston Churchill Complex along the bustling Rue Crescent strip of downtown Montreal is three separate establishments strung together across three floors. More pub than restaurant, the place houses a trio of immense bars, large wall screens and a terrace that is partially enclosed in winter. The ambience lacks the familiar feeling that so many pubs attempt to capture. Drink specials abound, and there is usually a steady stream of customers. The staff appears young, trendy and more at ease behind a bar than waiting tables. They are, nonetheless, friendly and generally knowledgeable. The menu is fairly varied, offering sandwiches, clam chowder, fish 'n' chips and the expected pub fare. The food quality is, unfortunately, lacking. While nothing is outright bad, dishes are more an afterthought, or a sponge for alcohol, than anything else. Portions, at least, are generous.
