Restaurant Le Caveau Description:
A restaurant since 1949, Le Caveau has been serving authentic French cuisine in a Victorian establishment that remains unchanged since it was built in 1919. Everything from doorknobs to tables, from windowsills to tablecloths is first generation. The eerily nostalgic ambience and the cuisine make it an interesting dining experience. Despite its lack of modern décor, it thrives among the skyscrapers that envelop the establishment. Lunch hour is particularly busy as patrons from area offices rush to partake of the table d'hôte menu. True to its southern French culinary roots, every part of the animal is served: kidneys, liver---the list of offal goes on. But an array of fresh seafood and poultry is also available. Worth savoring is escargots served in buttery tarragon sauce. Desserts are notable as well, especially the non-French but very Quebec maple pie. Do look into the selection of French wines from major as well as lesser-known vintners.

If you have been to Paris this is like one of those cozy French Restaurants you want to revisit. Not pretentious but amazing good French Cuisine. Hearty soups and bisques, great salads, and French classics like bavette/frites and duck confit.Definately worth going.
