Epernay Description:
Epernay may take its name from the French town where elegant Champagne is produced, but this relaxed, neighborhood restaurant feels more like Montmartre. Reminiscent of a brasserie, the eatery has its plats du jour stenciled on a mirrored wall, tables are dressed in linen and topped with white paper, and French doors open to sidewalk seating. Dishes include bouillabaisse and cassoulet. There are several mussel dishes which may be shared---order any and you'll be pleased. Or try the filet of trout served on a bed of spinach salad with toasted almonds and dressed with a light horseradish peppercorn sauce. On Fridays Epernay serves braised short ribs. A chocolate mousse makes a nice ending to a meal here.
