The Vineyards Restaurant & Boulevard Brewery Description:
Co-owners Rebecca and Kathleen Mayer always knew they had a knack for good taste, and they continue to deliver satisfying dishes that delight the senses. All entrées begin with a petite garden green salad feted with blue cheese crumbles and almonds. Then the fun begins as the Mayers whip up locally sourced dishes based upon what's in the larder and in their vivid imagination. It may be a succulent heritage pork tenderloin rubbed with an exotic blend of Moroccan spice and dashed with sweet curry. Perhaps the next time it'll be Arbor chicken, which looks and tastes fried---even though it isn't. The Mayers' focus is on freshness all around, and they make sure one of them is tableside to serve and listen to feedback. If you can, end with the rum-soaked, caramelized banana-topped banana nut cake with brown sugar pastry cream. The wine list takes cues from Pirtle Winery, which is directly across the street, offering boutique bottles from its stock.
