Kaldi's Coffeehouse Description:
Located in the welcoming DeMun neighborhood, this coffeehouse features found-art sculpture around the front door, high ceilings and piles of publications. Daytime sees a mix of office workers, families and students from the nearby universities and seminary noshing on roasted eggplant panini and black bean burritos. The kitchen, totally vegetarian, officially closes at 7 p.m., but there's always the option of desserts, smoothies and a few sandwiches to tempt goateed students and a post-movie crowd until the late-night closing. Plus, there's always first-rate coffee. Kaldi's is a micro-roasting leader in fair-trade, organic and single-origin coffees from around the world, but plenty of patrons still opt for basic beans in a straightforward dark Italian roast.
