Kaldi's Coffeehouse Description:
Local pride isn't out of place at this Kaldi's, positioned in a sprawling strip mall complex far to the west of the company's flagship site in tree-shaded Clayton. Just off I-64, it offers all the amenities of its big-chain brethren (free WiFi, a fireplace and plenty of individual tables for those who use coffeehouses as their offices). But with its well-educated baristas and micro-roasted beans, it comes across as having a little more soul. The menu is fairly typical, with lots of soups and sandwiches plus a few heartier meals and daily specials. Then there's the temptingly displayed counter of baked goodies that never fails to entice those waiting to order. Typical too is the crowd, a mix of day-tripping shoppers, business-types and families.
