Barrio Description:
The culinary team of Tim McKee and Josh Thoma, creators of the luxurious La Belle Vie and the fun-loving Solera, turn their attention to the joys of tequila, paired with fast and easygoing Mexican fare. The bar boasts more than 100 different tequilas, which are poured by the shot, used as a base in a thirst-quenching variety of margaritas or paired with a long list of house-made sodas. In the tradition of the tapas menu at Solera, McKee and Thoma turn out a list of Mexican small plates, including sopas topped with a rich barbecued pork, grilled shrimp tacos, smoky chicken enchiladas, perky salads and a few meal-size entrées that range from seared tuna to hefty pork ribs with grilled plantains. The colorful storefront space has a 24-hour-party vibe (even in the less lively balcony) and is constantly packed with a young, great-looking crowd.
