Buca di Beppo Description:
When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's Buca di Beppo. Frank Sinatra plays over the sound system, black-and-white photos of JFK adorn the walls and the tables are all covered with red-and-white checked tablecloths. At this, the original Buca (and still our favorite of all the locations), it feels like some guy's basement restaurant in Little Italy. Family-style portions have everyone leaving after their meal (discreetly) unloosening their belt buckles, smiling and carrying big bags of leftovers. (Buca also offers a menu for two for smaller parties.) Our choice is the chicken Marsala with its wine-sweetened mushrooms and tender chicken---along with the garlic mashed potatoes. Or sample the lasagna---a nine-layer extravaganza loaded with homemade meat sauce and cheeses. Plate-size rounds of garlic bread are always crispy on the outside and good and garlicky soft in the center. Other locations.
