Sleek décor and one of Miami's most winning wine lists enhance the truly authentic, ingredient-driven regional Italian fare at this Lincoln Road hot-spot, popular among sophisticated locals and celebrity visitors alike. The fashionable interior, whose central focus is a massive mirrored bar flanked by illuminated wine towers, contrasts sharply to the food, much of it the rather rustic fare found in the Northern Italian region of Piemonte, home of Quattro's charming identical twin chefs. To emphasize dedication to authenticity, almost all ingredients are imported from Italy (including all cold cuts, cheeses, even salt). In the case of some imported shellfish, this is not always a great idea, but dishes like the Piemontese cold appetizer vitello con crema di tonno (thin-sliced veal with a thick layer of creamy capered tuna sauce, made with the famous boldly-flavored bluefin from Sicilian waters) make up for the occasional aged crustacean. Other must-not-misses include burrata from Puglia, house-made ravioli stuffed with nutty imported Fontina, and swordfish carpaccio (sparkling-fresh Florida fish in a bath of extra-virgin olive oil and fresh raspberry purée). The largely Italian, 300-bottle wine list features many hard-to-find bottles and varietals not well known in the U.S. Outdoor tables on the pedestrian mall offer great people-watching.
