Radosta's Description:
Don's Special, a garlic extravaganza of house-made Italian sausage, olive salad and provolone cheese, constitutes a riff on the muffaletta. It's just one example of how the three Radosta brothers, who have run this neighborhood market since 1975, rise above the wave of the simply dressed roast beef, fried seafood, and Italian sausage sandwiches found at every other po' boy shop. Sometimes the sandwiches go decidedly creative---try the grilled shrimp Parmesan. Innovations aside, the roast beef po' boy here must be eaten with two hands and roughly a dozen napkins. You order at the meat counter and pay on your way out, on your honor for whatever you drink. Speaking of drinks, check out the selection of 75 domestic and imported beers.
