Huey's Midtown Description:
With multiple locations in Memphis (and one in nearby Southaven, Mississippi), Huey's has the market on some of Memphis' best burgers. The casual diner serves juicy homemade beef burgers topped with anything from pepper jack cheese and jalapeños to smoked cheddar and guacamole. Huey's serves an amazing vegan burger that would fool even the most diehard carnivore, and a heart-healthy beef burger (served on a whole-wheat bun) is available for the diet-conscious. Locals flock here on Sundays for the free live music (jazz in the late afternoon, the best of the local blues and rock scene at night). The atmosphere is flip-flops casual and laid back (think booths, checked tablecloths, local memorabilia), and the food is predictable and thus comforting. Kids like it because they are encouraged to write their names on the restaurant walls and toss toothpicks into the ceiling.
