Parking:

2, 3 and 4 hour meter parking is available in the streets surrounding the Gardens. Voucher machines operate in Birdwood Avenue, South Yarra.

By Public Transport:
Take the train to Flinders Street Station. Then take a tram (3, 5, 8, 16, 64 or 67) to the Domain Road Interchange. Walk towards the Shrine of Remembrance and you will see the Observatory Buildings, which are part of the Gardens. Follow the footpath from here to Birdwood Avenue. Enter through the Observatory Gate located in Birdwood Avenue.

What to Bring:
A blanket or cushion to sit on.
A picnic hamper or esky to enjoy a picnic before the show.
Warm clothes as the gardens are cooler in the evening.
Insect repellent.
Chairs are allowed. However, if you bring your own chair please allow us to seat you appropriately so that those around you do not have an obstructed view.

Miscellaneous:

The Gardens Gift Shop provides a large range of visitor information and the Gardens Audioguide Service. The shop also stocks garden books, quality gifts and childrens toys. Located in the National Herbarium Building, cnr Birdwood Avenue and Dallas Brooks Drive (adjacent to Gate F). Open 10 am to 5 pm every day, Tel. 9252 2341.
Also the Friends Shop, located next to The Terrace Tea Rooms, beside the Ornamental Lake. Open 9.30 am to 5 pm every day, Tel. 9820 1125
