Known for boasting one of the Cape's best views, the Ocean House does not need to work hard to draw customers, but the culinary team shows surprising gumption in attempting to serve cuisine as appealing as the seascape. The creative dishes don't always work, but classics like local seafood, braised lamb shank and warm chocolate cake won't disappoint. Wildly creative dishes like the hoisin, mozzarella and Peking duck pizza are less successful. The wine list is not up to par, but the bartenders mix up some remarkably stiff cocktails. You can't go wrong with an order of truffle fries and a Cape Codder shared with friends at the restaurant's bar. The huge desserts are also a highlight, but take our advice and order just one chocolate cake slice for the table, as it can easily satisfy up to four.
