Jimmy's Steer House is one of greater Boston's most affordable steakhouses---for better or worse. Workhorse that it is, its two branches in Arlington and Saugus attract friendly but no-nonsense locals for its good deals on surf 'n' turf: baked stuffed scrod and crab meat pie, New York sirloin and Kansas City prime rib. All of it is competent, none of it remarkable. Oddly, the chicken teriyaki is a perennial hit.
