It sits calmly in a neighborhood heavy with apartment developments, chain restaurants and strip malls and faces a supermarket rather than the street. For the less adventurous, there's pad thai and tasty green papaya salad, too, and these are just a couple of the items on a mile-long menu. But why play it safe? For example, even that ubiquitous pad thai comes in multiple variations. Then there's roti, the flatbread, served as a side or as dessert. The latter is spread with condensed milk or used as a base for ice cream. Spicing is denoted on the menu, and they mean it---the heat can be extremely aggressive, so speak up if your tongue is not properly insulated.
