Friendly Farm Steak House Description:
The original farm house is no longer used as a dining room---the crowds got too big for that---but this old-fashioned restaurant is still located on the family farm. Large windows give onto a view of rolling pastures and plentiful food arrives in heaping bowls to be passed around family-style at non-linen-clad tables. A relish tray, complete with apple butter, cottage cheese and coleslaw, starts the meal. Then comes an entrée---fried chicken, crab cakes, broiled pork chops, or a porterhouse steak---served individually, but with bowls of fresh vegetables, french fries, hot rolls, and biscuits on the side. Dessert is a generous scoop of ice cream or sherbet. Baked goods to take away are sold in the lobby, and a barn has been converted into a gift shop.
