Pappadeaux Description:
Pappas restaurants offer great ambience, fresh seafood & good value. There is always a big crowd here for both lunch & dinner, so call ahead. The cocktails are innovative, the seafood is delicious although the portions are more than enought for 2 & the desserts must have! Soft shell crab, lobsters, & crawfish are the best in town. There is a nice courtyard style patio where customers can wait or linger around after dinner. There is plenty of parking available.
Specializing in Cajun-accented seafood dishes, the menu re-creates some old standards---such as the po' boy sandwiches---while dishing up some of its own notions. The very rich oysters Pappadeaux, for instance, presents a half dozen lightly baked oysters with crab meat, spinach and hollandaise sauce---a take on Rockefeller style. Deep-fried crawfish tails with fries come in an appetizer size that's plenty for a light-appetite dinner, or as a generous dinner portion. The real meal deal for two is the Pappadeaux Platter, a heaper of fried seafood with extra shrimp, catfish and crawfish. Cajun touches extend to boudin, crawfish bisque, frogs' legs, fried 'gator tail, bread pudding and sweet potato-pecan pie, but you also can get a whole Maine lobster, grilled seafood, and soft-shell crabs. For calorie-watching, a charbroiled preparation is available for any of the fried dishes. Since ownership is Greek, there's a Greek salad. Also located at 5635 Jimmy Carter Blvd., at I-85 (exit 99), Norcross, 770-849-0600; and 10795 Davis Dr., off Mansell Rd., Alpharetta, 770-992-5566.
