Australian Bakery Description:
This is a small mom & pop bakery/ cafe located in the heart of Marietta Square. Open daily for breakfast & lunch, they specialize in fresh baked breads, specialty pastries, sandwiches, Australian meat patties, pot pies & quiches. Come in for a quick bite or take it with you to go. It's great for a coffee break too! You will find the attorney & office crowd swamping the place frequently. Prices are very reasonable & portions are just right.
You can even take a piece of Australia home with you. They sell chocolates, biscuits & other goodies not found anywhere else.
Lamingtons anyone? Pavlova? Apple slices? If you're at all familiar with Australian fare, you'll recognize these goodies. House-made steak, cheese-and-onion pie and all the sausage rolls you can ingest keep Atlanta's good mates from feeling too deprived. Hybrids include a spinach triangle, an Outback Pepperjack (basic Aussie pie with chicken and Monterey Jack cheese), and right good American-style sandwiches on house-made bread. Cornish pasties join their cousin, the veggie pasty. Selected Aussie grocery items include proper tomato sauce to go with those sausage rolls. Breads baked on site are excellent. Owners Mark Allen and Neville Steel are the real things, mate.
