Grace Description:
Grace's circular bar, amid the shimmering stained glass and vaulted ceilings of this renovated nineteenth-century church, is a popular hangout. The bar food shines, as in a Kaiser Krainer sausage with Emmental and a soft pretzel or classic deviled eggs dotted with black truffle. Move on to a seat upstairs overlooking all of the action. An appetizer of scallop tartare is brightened by nectarines, pluot and watercress while an entrée of chicken confit comes down to earth with seasonal chanterelles and rainbow chard right from the farmers market. Hearty appetites will like the boneless rib-eye with barley and a risotto flavored with heady bone marrow. Sockeye salmon is smoked---but just mildly---and accompanied by tangy mustard greens and a brown butter béarnaise. For dessert, the cinnamon and chocolate mousse cake adds spice to a familiar flavor.
