A sister restaurant of the family-operated Taste on Melrose, this eatery is a worthy destination in the surprisingly sparse Pacific Palisades dining scene, where affluent residents generally take their dining dollars elsewhere. Candlelit bistro tables sit beneath modern lighting fixtures to create a homey yet fashionable ambience in this intimate restaurant. Among starters, the wide-ranging menu offers mint-and-dill-scented tuna tartare with a spicy aïoli, winning pizzettas (try the one with pear, caramelized onions and Gorgonzola), and truffle-scented mac 'n' cheese with mushrooms. Follow these up with fennel-crusted seared ahi with coconut-saké-sweet chili sauce, respectable rigatoni Bolognese, or a Kobe cheeseburger (Gorgonzola, white cheddar or goat cheese) with pommes frites. Finish up with chocolate brioche bread pudding or opt for a nicely garnished plate of three cheeses.
