The Restaurant at the Getty Center Description:
The Getty Center is still one of L.A.'s hottest attractions, though demand for reservations has eased up enough to allow for the occasional spur-of-the-moment culture fix. And if you're visiting the Center and simply must dine more elegantly than at its various caféterias and food carts, try to book a table at its stunningly modern, starched white restaurant. What you'll get for your (top) dollar are table settings worthy of a museum and beautiful-to-behold contemporary cuisine presentations. In addition, the view is breathtaking, especially at sunset. With chef Mayet Cristobal at the helm, expect top quality coming from the kitchen. Appetizers include roasted quail stuffed with wild rice, cherries and mushrooms, and tuna tataki with white anchovies, shaved red onions, wasabi tobikko caviar and ponzu, while entrées feature a Prime beef tenderloin with Yukon Gold whipped potatoes, and black cod with heirloom bean ragout, smoked bacon and green garlic. End your meal with the pear and apple galette with Calvados ice cream, or enjoy your dessert in liquid form with a specialty cocktail such as the blueberry cheesecake martini with a graham cracker rim.
