The Farm of Beverly Hills Description:
A reprisal of the Beverly Hills original, this faux rustic eatery offers cozy booths and banquettes amidst walls lined with farm memorabilia. The restaurant adjoins the lobby of The Grove's plush, retro theater complex, making it ideal for pre- or post-show bites. Prices are not particularly rustic for dinner, but there is no shortage of selections, beginning with items like a tuna sashimi tower with miso-honey-mustard and wasabi sauces, crab cakes with Dijon beurre blanc, and pistachio-crusted chicken fingers. Down-home classics like fried chicken, turkey meatloaf, steaks and barbecued ribs set the tone for entrées, although black and white sesame-crusted salmon with three sauces (wasabi, miso-honey-mustard and orange-hoisin) is among a few Cal-Asian dishes. A good approach for a satisfying meal is to stick to simple, nostalgic dishes including a more-than-respectable cheeseburger topped with oven-roasted tomatoes, caramelized onions, arugula and choice of cheese. The Farm's hearty old-fashioned breakfasts---ranging from eggs Benedict to egg-stuffed crêpes to frittatas---are always enjoyable and its legendary brownies live up to their reputation.
