Taix French Restaurant Description:
This Silverlake landmark, with its ornate plaster ceiling, has been serving pretty decent traditional French fare for 70 years---escargots, sautéed mushrooms, chicken bordelaise and a killer French-style potroast---but Pascal Frapech, former executive chef of the Sofitel, has added a few modern dishes in the form of daily chef's specials. Most of the guests have been old (and getting older) regulars who swear by the cozy atmosphere, excellent service and perfect martinis. Recently, however, members of the trendy Silverlake and Los Feliz set seem to be forsaking the over-packed Dresden Room for this place, which has marked a renaissance for Taix French Restaurant, and its always been a great choice for Dodger Stadium-bound diners.
