Shaherzad Description:
Shaherzad can be relied on for consistently good Persian food at reasonable prices. Start with kashk bademjan, baked eggplant that's practically spreadable, topped with tangy yogurt sauce, mint and caramelized onions. Lamb tahchin, saffron- and yogurt-marinated lamb on tah dig (a crispy yogurt, egg and rice base), is very tasty. Order at least one savory stew, preferably fesenjan---baked chicken in a rich walnut-and-pomegranate sauce. Shaherzad also serves a variety of seasoned rices; especially interesting is the shirin polo---rice mixed with orange peel, pistachios and almonds, stained yellow with saffron and flavored with a light rosewater shower.
