Ike Starkman founded the original Jerry's Famous Deli in Studio City in 1978 and quickly built a reputation for offering anything you'd want to eat or drink at any time of the day or night. This approach has clearly caught on, as evidenced by expansion all the way to South Florida. Craving pastrami, chicken liver or matzo ball soup at 3 a.m.? Head to Jerry's. Want Hawaiian pizza or fried shrimp at 6 a.m.? Head to Jerry's. The enormous menu lists over 600 items. The waitstaff is friendly and efficient, and the hefty---and heftily priced---sandwiches keep folks coming back. Especially the sky-high corned beef sandwiches with Swiss, cole slaw and Russian dressing.
