Gingergrass Description:
To its growing list of culinary destinations, Silver Lake has added a Vietnamese restaurant led by chef Mako Trinidad Scott. Bypass the familiar pho and imperial rolls and head for the zippy banana leaf fish and Mako's salad with grilled lemon grass flank steak. The house basil-lime elixir provides an herbaceously refreshing twist on the ubiquitous minted lime cooler. Gingergrass is a small, casual eatery---a trendy take on a neighborhood San Gabriel Valley place---with an open kitchen, dark Brazilian wood banquettes and mod lighting fixtures hanging from an unfinished ceiling. The house wine policy is BYOB, but not to worry---Silverlake Wine is right across the street and tailors its selections to the menu.
