Michael Cardenas, partner-owner of Sushi Roku, Katana and BOA Steakhouse, is doing a solo venture in Little Tokyo. He has opened Lazy Ox Canteen with chef Josef Centeno, who is offering a fairly upscale seasonal menu with dishes like beef tartare with juniper berry, brick-roasted mussels with basil, smoked sesame-crusted ahi, pan-fried skate wing with ham hocks, and blood orange flan.
