Le Deuxième Description:
The second restaurant from the owners of Le Café du Jardin, Le Deuxième offers a mostly European menu but with a distinct nod to Asia. Staples like foie gras with caramelized rhubarb, hazelnuts and Madeira jus appear beside tempura of shrimp with Thai dressing. Mains include grilled tuna with shiitake mushrooms and Asian broth, braised ox cheeks with root vegetables, and roast guinea fowl with wild mushroom risotto. It's all very well done in a pretty, light room which offers a welcome oasis in Covent Garden's often hectic streets. There's a good wide-ranging wine list and service is friendly and efficient. Set lunch and pre- and post-theatre menus with coffee: 2 courses £13.50, 3 courses £16.50.
