The Cow Description:
Very Notting Hill here, with its crowded downstairs bar and posh first-floor dining room with modern art prints. Oysters are one of the delights (and wash them down with a pint of Guinness to be really Irish), but go upstairs for a treat from a menu that is unashamedly British with the likes of devilled lambs' kidneys on toast for starters and smoked eel, with mash, bacon and leg of lamb with artichokes and salsa verde to follow. The venture belongs to Tom Conran (Sir Terence's son) who moves between the pub, his diner and first-rate deli nearby. The clientele is very Notting Hill and fashionably scruffy and laid back.
