Vineet Bhatia and his wife run this smart restaurant with panache. On a good day, this is a blockbuster of a venue, with cooking which he describes as "evolved" that will meet the highest expectations. Start with garam masala-dusted tuna or grilled sea scallops for a taste of the subtle dishes to come. Mains must include a lobster, grilled with chilli and ginger served on the half shell with a spiced lobster jus. Other fish are treated as imaginatively as is a grilled pepper duck breast, coming with duck confit in coconut korma and foie gras brûlée. Try the £75 gourmand menu which will take your taste buds on a thoroughly different, inspiring journey. Desserts are quite good: go for the chocolate platter with three different chocolate treatments and a raspberry and ginger sorbet, or a trio of brûlées. The wine list is pricey, but then so is the whole meal. 2-course meal £45, 3 courses £55, Gourmand menu £75.
