Kensington Place Description:
Kensington Place is a London favourite, so when the original chef, Rowley Leigh, left the restaurant, everyone looked gloomy. It was then bought by D&D London (the old Conran Restaurant Group) who put in Henry Vigar as chef, lightened up the décor a bit and kept the restaurant on course. The chef comes up with some delightful dishes, very well executed. Try pork cheeks braised in apple with fennel choucroute and radish and plaice with braised Savoy cabbage and boulangères potatoes, or go for the good value menu which has more choices than most such set meals; neither choice will disappoint. The wine list is in the something-for-everybody mode, with prices to match. Set 2-course lunch Mon.-Fri. £16.50, 3 courses £19.50.
