Incognico Description:
Incognico was Nico Ladenis' first venture into more modest restaurateuring, helped by his daughter. Wood-panelled walls, old mirrors, dark colours and jazz in the background create the right relaxed mood. The cooking is very good, with gutsy flavours in dishes like spinach and ricotta ravioli with red pepper, roast spatchcock quails with celeriac purée or rump of lamb with borlotti beans and tarragon. There is nothing revolutionary here, but this is enjoyable, reliable food. The wine list offers a wide range, though verges on the pricey. Service makes you feel cherished. 3-course lunch £25 including a half bottle of wine and coffee and pre-theatre 3 course dinner £25 includes a glass of Champagne.
