Fung Shing Description:
Fung Shing is a longtime Chinatown kitchen that has expanded over the years into a smart, large restaurant. Polite waiters (a rarity in Chinatown) will advise if needed but for the conventional the stalwarts are all there: grilled King prawns with garlic sauce, and steamed scallop with garlic and soy sauce. The adventurous will find plenty to please from the chef's specials which include the likes of stir-fried eel in a basket or braised abalone with sea cucumber. Seafood is well done and you can push the boat out with lobster and crab or go the whole hog with the £75 dish of braised double boiled shark's fin in hot pot. The wine list is ambitious and very good. There is a fine range of set menus for groups from two people (£36) to five people (£90).
