Come early---especially on Sundays when the place packs with after-church diners---to this truly old-school restaurant where family-style fried chicken is topnotch. Laid out like a maze, salivating visitors are led through a series of a dozen dining rooms decked with odd antiques before being seated. Birds are a must, and they come piled high on a platter, after, of course, you take in an all-you-can-eat relish tray with kidney bean salad, zingy coleslaw, beets and sweet, corn-flecked hush puppies. Don't miss the mashed potatoes and the brandy ice, the latter of which is a real kick-in-the-pants. Post-meal (or while you're waiting to be seated), check out the petting zoo.
