Sahara Buffet Description:
The décor of the Sahara's mammoth 900-seat buffet remains among the resort's few public-area reminders of its African roots. Old-world Egyptian architecture, art and artifacts create a comfortable ambience for this Las Vegas dining tradition. Fresh fruits are also offered at the salad bar, along with good soups such as beef barley and chicken noodle. Other crowd-pleasers include assorted Mexican specialties and barbecue, and the carving board features prime rib, baked turkey and baked ham. Seafood choices include crab legs and paella with mussels; among Italian station displays are pizza and spaghetti with meatballs. Wonton soup, chow mein and sweet and sour pork are Asian favorites. The self-serve beverage station features fruit juices and coffee, hot and iced tea and an array of soft drinks. Save room for chocolate and vanilla frozen yogurt, Key lime pie and Black Forest cake.
