Mizuno's-Teppan Dining Description:
This steakhouse's reproduction of a Japanese garden is the setting for a teppan-style dinner made popular by Benihana. The food is cooked to order at your large teppan table with all the appropriate samurai-esque hocus-pocus. For starters, we like the à la carte sea scallops and mushrooms sautéed in a lemon-soy garlic butter. Prix-fixe dinners are traditional here, however, including the Shogun combination---consommé or miso soup, green salad, teppan vegetables, steamed rice and green tea with entrées of steak and chicken or seafood and a seafood combination. The Emperor's dinner for two---soup, salad, vegetables and rice with breast of chicken, filet mignon, lobster tail, Gulf shrimp and sea scallops, followed by ice cream or sherbet and, on request, green tea---is worth the splurge. Umbrella drinks, such as the Mizuno Colada or the Happy Bell, the restaurant's take on the mai tai, are mandatory for teppanyaki dinners.
