Top of the World Restaurant Description:
The view's the thing. Revolving a full circle every hour, this restaurant and cocktail lounge offers a magnificent panorama of the valley from its 100-story perch atop the resort's soaring tower. The warm décor in desert colors complements the dark wood and the mahogany, ebony and copper tabletops. For lunch, we like the chilled prawns with fennel-papaya salad and the crab cake eggs Benedict. The lobster bisque with Cognac is offered for lunch and dinner, as is ahi with fennel salad. Among dinner dishes are the oven-roasted Mediterranean chicken with herbes de Provence, and lobster-filled ravioli with a brandy-lobster sauce and a baby lobster tail. The seared sea scallops and colossal shrimp over a Champagne risotto cake with curry-carrot coulis is also a winner. Carnivores go for the Prime steaks and the farm-raised Colorado roasted rack of lamb. A wine pairing suggestion accompanies each entrée and dessert on the menu. The signature chocolate Stratosphere for two---a tower of rich milk chocolate mousse garnished tableside with vanilla sauce---may be enhanced by a glass of 1995 Dow's Quinta do Bomfim port or a Godiva white or dark chocolate martini.
