Shalimar Description:
One doesn't normally come to the desert to eat Indian cuisine. But who among us doesn't get an occasional hankering for mouth-searing curries, tandoori meats and those wonderfully yielding naan breads, hot from the clay oven? People who aim to please staff this comely little place. The mixed vegetable soup is created with a basil-tomato base. The tandoori chicken is outstanding. Among other best dishes are lamb curry; prawn saag prepared with fresh spinach and mild spices; chana masala, chick peas cooked with spices in a rich brown gravy; and the luscious kheer, an almond-flavored rice pudding.
