This is among Las Vegas' best examples of the California cuisine experience---lots of fresh ingredients with a Mediterranean flair complemented by good wines from across the nation and around the world. Complex menu items mix and match various influences with success. They are served inside the cozy brick-walled restaurant and on its patio, where tables are set with white linen for lunch and dinner. The extensive wine list includes about two dozen flights---four two-ounce pours, and on Mondays bottles are half off. Among appetizers is a pastry pouch filled with baked Brie, toasted hazelnuts, caramelized onions and apricot preserves. The hearty blackened salmon atop Caesar salad garnished with Mandarin oranges and pineapple is topnotch. Among dinner specials are classic herb-roasted chicken with haricots verts and mashed potatoes enhanced with leeks, and filet Oscar with leek mashed potatoes. The chocolate fondue with fruits and pound cake is among sweet finales.
